Hi, you probably have in your email contacts an email address, I recently turned on the catchall on this account to find out that I am getting 100's of emails daily to various email accounts on this domain that I have owned for many years.

I use with colin@ and info@ as an alias, no other accounts exist. I have decided for the time being to put an auto responder in place to let people know that they have the wrong email address. Email are not being read and automatically deleted so do not be concerned about privacy.

Please feel free to subscribe to my blog, I post useful hints and tips here and you can unsubscribe any time if they annoy you. Please feel free to email me if you would like any help with your email.

I recently turned down a $15,000 offer for this domain name (  but I would consider offers an order of magnitude higher.

Regards Colin Dixon is my main email address and feel free to call me on 0419 415000 I live in WA so that's 2 or 3 hrs behind Melbourne, unless I am travelling.

AUDA and where is your Domain

An update on where my clients domain names are:

on the 12st July 2010 registrar accreditation for Bottle Domains was terminated I was an agent for Bottle so my clients domains were transferred to AUDA these need to be transferred to a new registrar and I am now an agent for TPP Internet and this can be done at
Or send me your password email and I will do it for you. There is no cost to you.
Most of my clients were already with TPP so no action will be needed.

Here are some more tips.

You need to keep in control of your domain name, here's how to do it. is where to go to see who owns the name, look for the ownership and the

  • Registrant: needs to be you

  • Registrant Contact Name: needs to be your email address

For TLD ( eg not go to

To change things you need the Domain Password which is available from WARNING: see below

other things to note are the

  • Registrar Name: this will be the Service that I am a dealer for TPP Internet and the

  • Name Server: this is normally which directs to my Name Servers I also use several other domains look for ozol as well. is my site where you can change the contact email and name server, for example if you have a web developer who is designing your web site and he runs his own Name Server and Hosting Server Your hosting and email settings are defined via the Nameserver You may or may not have a login for this site, just ask if you want one, but take care it is easy to mess it up here.

I normally setup Google Apps for most domains This does the email and a lot more click on the link for more information.

Hosting links ( this may be relevant also) this is needed if you are hosting with me and need to make changes to your web server

But most customers just need the login for their web site, and their email.

WARNING: if you are selecting a new web hosting supplier and they don't know all of the above find a different one. You can tell if they tell you to go and find your domain password ( they can have it sent to you). When you want to change to me, I ask what is your domain name I then ask you if the email address I look up is yours, and then tell you to forward the Domain password I have just had emailed to you to me at or you can go to my web site and process the transfer yourself.

I would love to keep your business and I am open to resolving any concern or misunderstanding you may have had and work with you to achieve what ever you want to from your web site. As a gesture of Good Will if you agree to keep your site with me for a further 3 months I will send you this ($1,997) package for free.Just ask for it.

Thank you and all the best for the future Colin Dixon 0419 415000 or skype me.

Thanks Colin

Test of Three

In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was widely lauded for his wisdom.
One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance, who ran up to him excitedly and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about one of your students....?"
"Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before you tell me, I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Test of Three."
"Test of Three?"
"That's correct," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my student let's take a moment to test what you're going to say. The first test is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"
"No," the man replied, "actually I just heard about it."
"All right," said Socrates.. "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second test, the test of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my student something good?"
"No, on the contrary..."
"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him even though you're not certain it's true?"
The man shrugged, a little embarrassed.
Socrates continued, "You may still pass though, because there is a third test - the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my student going to be useful to me?"
"No, not really..."
"Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful, why tell it to me at all?"
The man was defeated and ashamed and said no more.
This is the reason Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem.
